Dr. Ram Shahani: PT, DPT, OCS, MBA is the founder of Primacare Rehabilitation, an outpatient, aquatic, physical, occupational therapy and wellness practice in Gwinnett County, a northern suburb of Atlanta. Primacare Rehabilitation was started in 2003.Ram received his Bachelor of Science (Physical Therapy) from the University of Bombay, India in 1986, and has been Board Certified in Orthopedic Physical Therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association since 1999. Ram received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2010.
Ram graduated from Georgia State University with an MBA in Management in 2003. He has taught numerous continuing education courses including Mobilization of the Upper Extremities and Evidence – Based Practices of Evaluating and Treating the Orthopedic Shoulder around the USA.
Ram has been an adjunct instructor at the University of South Alabama and a CCCE for North Georgia College and Georgia State University. He has been a clinical director in Acute Care Hospital, and a Rehabilitation Coordinator and an Administrator in an SNF Unit. He was the Director of the Fitness and Occupational Medicine program at the hospital.
He continues to enjoy treating patients at the clinic. He is currently the Treasurer for the
Physical Therapy Association of Georgia.
Aagnya Pathak PT is a graduate of the Physical Therapy program from Seth G.S. Medical College in Mumbai, India in 1996. She gained invaluable experience in the art and science of physical therapy and patient care during practice in Mumbai. She was dedicated to the science of physical therapy, which led her complete her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Georgia State University in 2000.She was married in 2000 and moved to Houston, Texas, where she continued to stay active with her training. She taught physical therapy assistant students at Houston Community College, while her husband completed his residency. Since moving back to the Atlanta area in 2005, she has been busy raising her 2 daughters with her husband. Her personal interests are varied but she particularly enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Aagnya has always been inspired by her mother, who is also a therapist, to dedicate her knowledge to the service of those in need. She has become a dedicated therapist and strives to achieve the best for her patients. She and her patients develop a personalized therapy to achieve the patients’ goals. She maintains her education to the most current level with continuing education courses. She learned of the benefits of Pilates training for her own health and feels this is an excellent adjunct to the principles of her traditional education in physical therapy. As a result, she has become a certified instructor upon successful completion of the Pilates Reformer 1 course. Aagnya is prepared to apply all that she has learned to provide her patients with the most effective, successful treatment and to help motivate her patients to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Cindy Chapman is a licensed physical therapist assistant and certified athletic trainer. Her career began 17 years ago in physical therapy. Throughout her career she has worked various disciplines including: outpatient and inpatient physical therapy, aquatic rehabilitation, and sideline sport coverage as an athletic trainer. She enjoys working with patients and finds it rewarding to observe the progress of the body as it heals.
Dr. Christian Reyes PT, DPT graduated from the University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences (USA). While at USA, Christian received a strong entry level education followed by advanced instruction in Manual Physical Therapy. Christian specializes in Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapy using a holistic approach to a variety of spinal and extremity impairments.
Part of Christian’s treatment approach includes Trigger Point Dry Needling following post graduate education by Myopain Seminars under Robert Gerwin, M.D., FAAN.
Christian has an interest in treating athletes as a sub-specialty and enjoys helping anyone get back to physical activities that are important to them.
Christian is fluent in Spanish.
Leigh Scibetta PTA is a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with over 22 years of experience and one of only seven CKTP® (Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner) in the state of Georgia. Her career path began in neurology; treating patients recovering from TBI (traumatic brain injury), CVA (stroke), and SCI (spinal cord injury), as well as other neurological conditions in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. She has 22 years experience in treating patients with vestibular dysfunction and balance problems as well as aquatic therapy with both neurological and orthopedic patient populations and enjoys treating hand/upper extremity diagnoses. In the past 10 years, Leigh has been treating in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and has seen the unifying effect that her knowledge of both neurologic and orthopedic conditions has yielded toward positive patient outcomes. Leigh is constantly striving for improved methods of returning her patients to an optimal level of function and has been a Clinical Instructor with several Southeastern PTA programs; proving her belief “that the better the therapist is educated and open to new avenues of treatment, then the better the patient is educated and thus helped”.
